Service Rig Mechanic

The Service Rig Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical workings of all service rigs and ensures operational readiness of equipment by performing preventive maintenance.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read diagrams/schematics for work procedures
  • Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery in a safe manner
  • Inspect and examine equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Mechanics need to meet all company, DOT, and government standards with equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Responsible for communication with shop supervisor on equipment readiness
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations
  • Actively support monitor and adhere to all objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Field Mechanics are required to keep proper inventory of parts
  • Other duties as assigned

Competency Requirements:

  • Experience is required
  • Valid CDL
  • Reading comprehension and writing skills
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Physical Job Demands:

  • Exposure to weather Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather
  • Atmospheric Conditions Exposure to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dusts, mists, and gases
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when applicable
  • Required to travel to job sites for a week or more at a time in a designated area
  • Must be able to work long periods of time, including nights and weekends
  • Must have efficient eye-hand coordination
  • Must be able to perform physical labor involved frequent lifting (over 50lbs.), carrying, bending, and shoveling

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
